This week we received a very special and exciting delivery to add to the studio. This amazing flash lighting set up is from Broncolor. I have listed the break down of the set up at the end of this post.
Knowing how to light your subject is crucial in creating professional imagery.
Weather you are using artificial light or natural light there are a few different lighting styles that are defined by how light and shadow fall across the face to create a desired look and mood.
When working with babies use a soft filtered light. For natural light sheer curtains are great, or for artificial light use soft boxes. To reduce the contrast in the light, either increase the size of the light source or move the light source away from your subject.
Lastly, when photographing a portrait there is by no means an exact science. There are many factors that will affect the final result. For example; the client’s facial features, the exact position of the head, the position of the camera, and the position of the lights.

I am considering to have them in our new studio. they look really good. Greetings from UK.
Significant begrudge at this moment, my fantasy study would have a roof track framework such a great amount of more secure with little individuals circling and such a space saver.
Wow major envy right now, my dream study would have a ceiling track system so much safer with little people running around and such a space saver! This set up looks superb!
It’s always good to see what kit other photographers use. Thanks for sharing
Hi Kelly, you’re such an inspiration to so many people! I think I have just about purchased every single one of your products lol! Congratulations on your new studio it is absolutely amazing! xx
I have a very small home studio, but I have Westcott TD5 Spiderlites which are constant lighting. I have done my best to follow you without natural light. I hope by you using any type of studio lighting it will make me feel I have something in common with you, that you will now understand my issues.
The hanging system makes all the difference, especially during time constraints. The ease of movement it provides, I can imagine is so much of a time saver compared to having several stands. The initial set-up though may be a pain to do and you can’t really use that system during travels.
Would love to have these.
would you if i ask you about the price?
Broncolor lighting is truly excellent and probably the best around. The studio is nicely laid out as well with pantographs keeping your kit out of the way of energetic kids. I have just taken a look at your baby photography and it is absolutely brilliant. Very inspirational and amongst the best I have ever seen.
Congrats Kelly! I’ve been using Broncolor from the start, love it and would not want anything else. 🙂

Would love to have these in my studio! I’ll check the price first!
Hi Kelly and team,
I was trying to sign up for the Dallas workshop and realised that it has been filled already. I am located in Trinidad, in the Caribbean, can you tell me the nearest workshop to me?
I was signing up for the Florida workshop earlier this year, unfortunately I had an emergency and then the hurricane also made it impossible for me to leave. I would really love to attend a workshop but I am not seeing any close to me.
Please let me know if you would be having any on this side next year.
Regards,
Nadine Eversley
wow looks great!
