I’m so excited to finally share this beautiful photograph of Kim and her 5 gorgeous babies. In January I travelled over to Perth with Canon Australia to document this incredibly special time in the Tucci’s lives. I had a ball photographing them but couldn’t have done it without a little help – thank you Clare

Today I had my very first session in the NEW studio. And what a way to christen it with these gorgeous 7 week old twin boys.

I still can’t get over the fact that its all mine and how incredible the light is!!! I’ll be sharing some more behind the scenes soon once everything is completed in the building.  Spine Street Studios in Sumner, Brisbane is the new location for Little Pieces Photography.  With 2 natural light studios and an amazing corner cyclorama studio it is just the best space to work out of.

Spine Street Studios, Sumner, will be having an open day on 31st March 2017 and you can find out more information here.

The past 12 days have been nothing short of incredible!!! I’ve had so much fun here in London at my Newborn Photography Workshops! 7 full days of teaching, 9 babies photographed and 1 night spent with my English family in Widnes

I’m not sure I would have got through it without the help from my good friend and travel companion Garrett and my amazing host Russ Jackson Photography – I’m beyond grateful to you both.

The long flight back to Australia starts in a couple of hours and I’m pretty sure I’ll sleep the entire way.

Thank you to every newborn photographer that attended my classes, getting to know you has been an absolute privilege and if you’re waiting on a response to an email I promise to get back to you very soon. Kelly x

I’m back in Seattle  and ready to teach Baby Safety & Posing for Newborn Photographers tomorrow at CreativeLive!

And I’m excited to share that Stephanie Robin Photography – Newborn and Family Portraitist will be joining me as a special guest during tomorrows class I can’t wait!
Lets Make Safety A Priority And Put Clients At Ease!

1600

Parents hire newborn photographers to document every detail of their babies at that brief instant at the start of their lives when they are tiny, bright and new to the world. Newborn photographers can feel a lot of pressure to fulfill parents’ wishes. In the rush to capture the perfect shot, it’s easy to forget that the subject of these photos are incredibly fragile little beings. Safety should always come first.

Join ee for tips on handling newborns safely, reading their moods and needs, and prepping your studio for a newborn shoot. You’ll learn:

  • Safe posing techniques
  • How to operate a safe environment in your studio and on external shoots
  • How to understand newborn behavior

You’ll discover how to sanitize your studio, choose cleaning products and plants with the newborn’s health in mind, and make sure that your furniture and equipment meets newborn safety standards. I will also focus on safely posing and handling a newborn during the shoot. I will teach you how to execute poses like the Potato Sack, the Froggy pose, and other advanced techniques used to create composite images. You will learn about newborn anatomy and the environment they come from to help you better understand what they are capable of doing in a shoot setting: how to avoid imbalance, overheating, and injury.

Finally feel capable of communicating about newborn safety. If parents feel that they can trust you around their child, they will be put at ease and remember the experience of the shoot more fondly.

You can find all the details here…

More fun filming in the studio today. I was lucky enough to photograph little Max a couple of years ago as a newborn so couldn’t wait to meet his baby sister today and see the beautiful boy he has grown into!
While I was editing this photo earlier I thought – Max is just two & half, he will never remember cuddling his brand new baby sister Amelia! And then I started to wonder where will photos like this be in around 60 years when these beautiful babies have families of their own and I’m pushing 100! If I’m lucky!!!

I’ve just arrived home from a print critique evening for our upcoming State AIPP Awards. Earlier today I was working on some posing videos for my WPPI classes next week in Vegas!   9 day old Tommy was a perfect little model!
