The AIPP Nikon Event ~ Brisbane Baby Photographer

We have arrived home from 3 INCREDIBLE days at The AIPP Nikon Event.  Every day was filled with the most inspiring speakers from all over the world!  To start the conference off husband and wife team Heather Swan and Glenn Singleman had everyone on the edge of their seats with their incredible presentation called Fearless.  Then we listened to Peter Rossi and Chairmaine Heyer, two of the nicest and ridiculously talented photographers I know!   They are pretty much my biggest inspiration.  We (and when I say we I mean my husband and I) then listened to Stephen Dupont and there are simply no words to describe what an artist this man is!  His work is astounding.  And then Dan O’Day entertained us with his genius – and even held a gallery exhibition during his presentation.  To finish  Alexia Sinclair – one of my favourite artists gave a wonderful insight into her creative masterpieces; to have half the talent this woman has would be incredible!

This year I was also asked to be a presenter which is a HUGE honour!  But will admit I have never been so nervous in all my life to speak in front of a group of people!  During my talk I looked out into the audience and all I could see were the faces of photographers I know and admire.  And everyone kept saying “but you’ve done this before!”  I have but not up on a stage in front of friends of the industry and without a baby in my hands 🙂  So I stumbled through my presentation and when it was over I could finally breath and enjoy the rest of the Event 😉

And here’s the video I created (with the help of my good friend Garrett from Garrett, Your Blog Mechanic) for my presentation, to show how a potential award image for the family category is created from start to finish after coming up with a concept.

It was pretty awesome to see my work hanging at the Brilliant Prints booth in the trade show, their canvas’s are incredible!

I also got to pick up my new 3 annies camera bag – the Audrey Lu in distessed brown.  Seriously love this bag!

And on the last night was the Gala Dinner With Charity Print Auction.  Every year each speaker is asked to donate one image to be auctioned off with all proceeds going to a chosen charity.  The charity this year was the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Australia.  And together we raised a whopping $59,000!!!!

I submitted this image of my daughter Mackenzie and I couldn’t believe it when it raised $1900!!!  😀

Rob couldn’t resist – he had to have the image donated by Heather Swan and Glenn Singleman.  It raised $700!

Heather took this image of Glenn flying across the Australian Outback!!!

    Kelly –

Thank you so much for the video! Would love to have a slowed down version of the “nest” you made. Hint hint for youTube. The photo of your daughter is amazing too.
